Code of Ethics

Purpose

The Code of Ethics (“the Code”) has been devised to provide guidance to all involved in the Irish Mags NUFC Supporters Group (“the Supporters Group”) as to the standards of conduct, responsibilities and interactions that are expected in accordance with the values, attributes and objectives of the Supporters Group.

The Irish Mags NUFC Supporters Group is fully committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of its Members and encourages best practice in the running the Supporters Group through its commitment to providing an environment that demonstrates dignity, respect and an understanding for Members rights and welfare.

The achievement of best practice is reliant upon the adoption of this Code by the Members of the Supporters Group. Members are expected to undertake, comply and encourage other Members compliance with the Code in all circumstances and at all times whilst partaking in activities and communication associated with the Supporters Group.

1. Participation

Members must use due care and diligence when partaking in the Supporters Group’s activities and events. At all times, Members must act with the highest degree of integrity, and particularly when taking decisions, Members must act with impartiality, objectivity and independence and must not act in a manner likely to tarnish the reputation of the Supporters Group and Newcastle United Football Club.

2. Dignity and Respect

2.1 All Members must ensure to treat everyone equitably and sensitively within the context of their activity and communications, regardless of gender, ethnic origin, cultural background, sexual orientation, religion, family status, political beliefs, age, disability or socio-economic status.

2.2 Members have a duty to foster a culture of dignity and respect.

2.3 Members should respect one another and expect respect for their worth regardless of their role within the Supporters Group.

2.4 Members must act in a courteous manner and must ensure their actions, words or gestures are always appropriate and not offensive to other parties. We acknowledge that Members might not agree with each other, but we do require Members to treat each other with respect.
